While money is morally neutral, what we do with our money reveals something much deeper — namely, what’s in our hearts (Matthew 6:21).
As part of God’s “royal priesthood” (1 Peter 2:9), we recognize that everything we have comes from God and rightfully belongs to Him (1 Chronicles 29:14), but that He entrusts His gifts (e.g. time, talents, & treasure) to us that we might use them, as faithful stewards, in service to His Kingdom (Matthew 25:14-29), to bring hope & salvation to the ends of the earth.
Thus, Zion encourages members and regular attendees to follow the Biblical model of giving “cheerfully” (2 Corinthians 9:7) and “sacrificially” (Hebrews 13:16) of our “firstfruits” (Proverbs 3:9-10). Contributing in this way to the work of the Church is both a renunciation of greed as an idol and an act of faith by which we demonstrate our trust in God to provide for us all that we need. It is also an expression of worship in response to all that God has done for us.
It is through your dedication of time, talents, & treasure that the ministry and mission of Zion can continue. So we thank you for choosing to give generously in an effort to change lives and to bring hope to our world.
