The sign out front says "Lutheran".
What that means is that we believe, teach, & confess what Dr. Martin Luther -
the man who inspired the Reformation of the Christian Church in the 16th century - believed, taught, & confessed,
namely that we are saved by God's grace alone, through faith in Jesus Christ alone,
as revealed in the Bible, which alone serves as our authority in matters of faith & life.
That means Lutheran teaching is grace-focused, Christ-centered, & Bible-based.
Consequently, Lutheran teaching is "evangelical" - a word that means "good news" -
because the "good news" of what God has done for us (and continues to do for us) in Christ,
out of His unconditional love, undeserved grace, & compassionate mercy, is central to our teaching & practice.
At the same time, Lutheran teaching is "catholic" - a word that means "according to the whole" -
because what we believe, teach, & confess is in "accordance" with what the "whole" people of God, of every time & place,
has believed, taught, & confessed since the time of the Apostles - nothing more; nothing less.

As Lutherans, we are affiliated with the Pacific Southwest District of the Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod (LCMS), which means we partner together with 2.5 million Lutherans in 6,000 congregations scattered throughout the U.S. to further God's Kingdom here in America.
A major part of that ministry is providing Christian education at all levels through 700 elementary schools, 100 secondary schools, seven universities, and two seminaries, as well as providing Christian resources through Concordia Publishing House.
As members of the International Lutheran Council, the LCMS also partners together with 54 sister church bodies scattered throughout the world to provide missionaries, schools, teachers, materials, & human care relief to nations all over the world.
+ God is "triune" - three distinct Persons (Father, Son, & Holy Spirit), yet one divine Essence.
+ God is the Creator of all things and actively sustains His creation.
+ Mankind was created good, but fell into sin. As those born of Man, we inherit Man's sinful condition and are thus in need of salvation.
+ God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son, Jesus, to share in our humanity, that He might suffer the punishment for our sins (namely death & damnation) in our stead, so that He could redeem us from slavery to Sin, Death, & the Devil.
+ Salvation is by God's grace, through faith in Jesus, and is available to all who turn from their sins and confess Jesus as their Lord.
+ God's Word, Baptism, & the Lord's Supper are the means by which God bestows on us His Spirit who gives us the faith necessary to believe, empowers us to live the Christian life, and applies forgiveness, righteousness, & eternal life to us personally.
"We are a fellowship of believers gratefully sharing the love & grace of Jesus Christ through Bible-centered preaching, teaching, and service to our community."
Part of our mission at Zion is to be a family who seeks to encourage each other and to stir one another up to love and good works,
as we gather together for worship, Bible study, fellowship, and prayer, where we receive God's grace & mercy
to help us in our times of need (Hebrews 4:16; 10:22-25).
The other part of our mission is to faithfully live out God's calling to be a "royal priesthood" in our Fallbrook community, which is dedicated to protecting & providing for those in our community,
praying for those in our community,
and proclaiming the love of Jesus to those in our community,
that they might know Him and love Him in return (1 Peter 2:9).
We would love for you to be a part of our family and to join us in the ministry that God has set before us here in Fallbrook, California!
